About Cormacks of Caithness Our History
My Cormack Family is from the Wick, Thurso, Bower, Dunnet, Olrig, areas of Caithness,
Scotland. The Cormacks were farmers, Dunnet Farm, Greenland Mains., Culgower Farm and
Navidale Farm from what I can gather. My name is Quillen and I live in Southern
California. I got interested in trying to find family history when I tried to research
my gran fathers WWI medal.I stumbled on Helmsdale.org and signed the guest book. Soon
after I discovered a distant cousin who had read it and it went on from there. My gran
fathers entire family emigrated here to the USA in an about the 1930's. They where
primarily all on the East Coast, New York, Connecticut and New Jersey. In the mid 1960's
George and Alexander came to California and settled in Santa Barbara. My gran Dad had
returned to live in Helmsdale. We moved from Connecticut to live in Ventura County
about 50 miles from my Uncles. In the mid 1970's James returned to Santa Barbara were
he passed away in 1985. I have discovered many distant relatives and look forward to
connecting with everyone through this site.
